Planning and designing events and weddings are what I have been doing my entire life—starting at the age of seven when I planned a wedding for my friend Yvette’s Barbie. Then, as a young adult, I planned parties for my friends and family.  Looking back, planning and creating events are just something that has always come natural to me. I want to help you bring your vision to fruition, for you to be able to sit back and enjoy your party, and who doesn’t love a great well planned party!

Biography

David’s career started in the 1990’s while waiting tables in college and planning parties on the side for friends and family. after moving to Baton Rouge in the late nineties, David joined the catering and events team at Juban's, one of South Louisiana premier catering and event companies where he was the Operations Director, and moved up quickly to Director of Catering. During David’s 15 year tenure at Juban’s, he planned and directed many notable events, including LSU Law School’s Centennial Dinner Celebration for 750 guests, Big Buddy’s Dancing with the Stars for 600 guests, and Forum 35 Viva il Vino dinner for 350 guests, not to mention countless corporate and social events, both at Juban’s and at off-site venues and homes. 

During this time, David fell in love with planning the many weddings, wedding receptions and rehearsal dinners hosted through Juban’s, bringing his own uniquely inspired sense of taste and aesthetics to everything he did.

 

In 2014 David became an independant Wedding and Event Planner to give himself flexibility as well as afford his many trusted clients accessibility that an independent company offers. 

 

Since 2014 David has also collaborated exclusively with the Baton Rouge Company Red Cake Events, led by the fabulous and creative Heather Day. With her they have worked on many large-scale events and festivals all around South Louisiana, including the Emerge Centers annual gala to raise money and awareness for Autism.

 

In 2016, after planning a wedding in Cashier’s, NC, David was drawn to the beauty of the mountains around Asheville and decided it was time to branch out and bring his rustic elegant style as well as his expertise of logistics to Western North Carolina.

 

From August of 2018 to January of 2023, David planned and executed events exclusively for The Greystone Inn, in Lake Toxaway NC. Where he worked with some of WNC’s best vendors, creating one of kind weddings and events for this amazing property.

 

David Wright brings all of his 35 years in the Restaurant and Hospitality business, including the 25 of those designing, planning and coordinating weddings and events. 

 

David’s background in the Restaurant and Hospitality industry gives him a unique perspective that enhances his ability to ensure your wedding is thoughtfully planned, creative, beautiful, and seamlessly executed. Believing that no detail is too small or idea too “outside the box,” his vision is that the fun and enjoyment of life is trying new things and challenging conventional ideas!

 

Personally, David loves all animals, especially his cats and dog, is avid gardener, writer, artist and wanna be adventurer. And though he makes his home in Brevard, NC. he spends his free time exploring and hiking in the mountains of WNC, as well as around the country.
